Are you looking to develop your skills as a leader? Planning to make the move into middle leadership or senior leadership?

Clitheroe Royal Grammar School are offering their Future Leaders programme to all ELTSA members in 2019/20.

Whether you are an NQT, Head of Department or senior leader the programme will have something to offer.

Over the 4 interactive sessions you will explore your own leadership style, look at the challenges of balancing quality assurance with building your team, how to secure the very best whilst supporting and developing your team(s). Brief inter-session tasks and a 360’ review are at the core of the programme and will encourage you to be a reflective, ethical and positive leader.

The course aims:

  1. For participants to gain a practical understanding of effective leadership theory and practice
  2. To explore educational leadership issues and consider ethical responses to leadership challenges.
  3. To explore each participant’s educational philosophy and look at how this will shape their vision.
  4. For participants to undergo a 360’ review of their leadership style and practice and reflect on this to further develop them as effective, self-aware leaders at all levels

The course is facilitated by  Catherine Reeves, an experienced Head of School with substantial senior leadership experience in a broad range of schools across East Lancashire. Formerly the Lead Consultant for the National Strategies in Blackburn with Darwen, Catherine has extensive experience in designing and planning professional development and all aspects of school improvement. You should find her sessions interactive, pacy and well-resourced with thought-provoking activities and discussion.

Session 1 will be jointly facilitated by Julie Turner, an experienced senior leader and Teaching & Learning/leadership consultant who has wide-ranging leadership and teaching experience across North West schools

Sessions will take place place on Tuesdays from 4.15-5.15pm, dates TBC at the CRGS Sixth Form Centre.
